Beware the Ides of March
May take you
for a ride
This roller coaster ride
is a many layered side
A boy brings you joys, and “go away and bother me!”
Demands look at me, can you see?
Yikes, don’t knock over our Christmas tree!
Stop that, slow down, wait up, NOOOOO
and then he’s
cars and dates and heartbreak
Marriage and friends and working and busy
We arrive at “Let’s do lunch” and warm, towering hugs – you big lug
I love you.
(he’s really a lovely, charming man but lug rhymes with hug so son, I sacrifice you for art 😉
My girls give me swirls of pearls
and snowflakes and rainbows
Red curls streaming, riding Scampers at dawn across the lawn
in her nightie! Blighty!
She’s a mighty miss, at 10
let her go…go lightly
My dear watch the brawn and please
tell those chaps
